Rev. Charity M. Goh was born in Ho to the late Mr. S.K. Apreku of KpandoFesi and Madam Bernice Osafo of Ho Ahoe all in the Volta Region of Ghana. She began her elementary school education at Jasikan in the Buem district of Volta Region. Rev. Charity later gained admission to the Mawuli Secondary School where she obtained a G.C.E O level certificate. After her graduation from Mawuli Senior Secondary School, she continued to OLA (Our Lady of Apostle) Girls Secondary in Ho, Ghana for her Advanced Level Certificate.
Upon successful completion of her A levels, she proceeded to the University of Ghana where she obtained her degree in Liberal Arts. After her degree, she got an admission to the University of Helsinki, Finland where she started her studies in Religious Studies. One year into her studies, she moved with her husband to the United States. She worked at the Ghana Mission to the United States as a Librarian. She later enrolled in Saint John’s University in Queens where she obtained her Masters in Library Science.
After her graduation from St. John’s University she began working with the New York Public Library as a Librarian. Two years later, she was promoted to Library Manager. In this role, she trained and mentored other staff to take on other leadership roles in the organizations. She belongs to professional organizations like the American Library Association, and the New York State Library Association. She served on many committees like the Immigration Task Force which seeks to reach the underprivileged and help other low-income groups.
In early 1990, Rev. Goh began to develop a very keen interest in Bible studies and prayer fellowship. This interest developed into a very deep longing to seek the Lord. She joined the New York City Church of Christ where she received a lot of teaching and training. Upon the inception of the Global Evangelical Church in New York in 2004, she joined and became one of the founding members. She served in various capacities in the church as the Administrator and Catechist.
Rev. Mrs. Charity Goh was commissioned in 2014 and ordained in 2016 as a minister of the Gospel with the Global Evangelical Church New York. She always had a deep love and zeal for the things of God. She is currently Pastor-in-Charge of the Global Evangelical Church, Glory Chapel in New York.
Rev. Mrs. Goh also served as a Chaplain for the United Volta Association for about 6 years. In this, a capacity she counseled members and conducted visitations to the sick.
Rev. Mrs. Goh is the Treasurer of the Zealous Christian Professional Forum Inc and spends time on the management of the forum activities on voluntary basis. She keeps and maintains accurate accounts of all the properties and business transactions of the forum.
Rev. Mrs. Charity Goh is married to Mr. Charles Goh with one daughter and they live in New York.
